Contract – Indra’s Net Maine Coon Cats

• Indra’s Net Cattery is a small ‘Family’ cattery focusing on the health, and spiritual well-being, as well as old-style size and coat of the Maine Coon Cat. We live in the beautiful Foothills of the Mountains among towering pines, and close to the stars of Indra’s Net.
• We are a small non-traditional family run adventure, having no more than 5 to 7 cats at a time. All cats are part of the general hubb-bubb of the house and family life. Indra’s Net cats live in the house and underfoot. All females live together, we have no cages.
• Because this is a small cattery I have only about two litters a year. I have a mailing list and keep everyone informed on new arrivals, retirees, and rescues. You can join the mailing list here. I do have other people that I trust and work with, and am happy to refer you or help you find your new Furry Family Member if you can’t wait. I am very responsive and return all emails and inquiries. I know how frustrating it is when people simply don’t return your inquiries. Thank you for your interest.

Mothers and new kittens are separated in my bedroom room where they can be quiet and out of the general hustle and bustle of the house. This keeps both mom and kittens healthy, happy and peaceful. When the kittens are two months old, they are allowed to play in the house in general with everyone else to introduce them to other cats, dogs and people.
My stud male is housed in my art studio/office and lives peacefully. He gets lots of individual time while I paint, draw and write & has a retired female to keep him company.

Kitten Sales Policy:

*All kittens will be spayed or neutered prior to leaving their birthing home, no exceptions. I do not support BYB or cheaters.

I do not sell breeding cats/kittens to people that I do not know or work with. I do not offer ‘stud service’.

Prices:
Males and Females are the same price, as all kittens are given the same love and attention. I do not charge more for ‘show quality’, nor males, nor females. All of my kittens are $2500 USD.

AFTER your application is approved, $500 USD and a signed contract will hold your kitten until they are ready to go to their new home.

The Pet Kitten Price includes:

Weekly updates and photos of your kitten after the contract is signed and $Hold money has been received by me.
At least two sets of kitten shots (one more is required at 16 weeks old when you go in for your well-kitten check upon receiving your kitten).
Rabies vaccination
Microchip
Spay or Neuter
CFA Registration paperwork
Copies of the mother and father’s health
An unofficial (copy) pedigree
And a spiritually happy, healthy kitten.

Just a note:
I go out of my way to make sure that your kitten has everything it needs to begin a happy life with you right away. If, for scheduling reasons (yours, mine, the vets’, life), one vaccine or complimentary service is not done, due to these scheduling issues, please don’t ask for a refund for a complimentary service.

Also, due to COVID-19 vet visits have been more difficult to schedule. This may delay your kittens’ leaving time. Thank you for your understanding.

*Personality*
A Maine Coon is very much like a Golden Retriever. Maine Coons will get along with anyone, but really bond with their “Family”. It is as important to carefully select your “Furry Family Member”, as they bond and are quite loving and loyal for life. They are known for following their family around, ‘talking’, chirping, trilling and ‘barking’ and actively interacting. Maine Coons are live, very intelligent beings with loving hearts and deserve to be treated as such.

Kitten Contract:

YOU:

Are adopting a Pedigreed Maine Coon Kitten or Cat from Indra’s Net and agree to a non-refundable $500 deposit to hold your new family member until she/he is ready to go home with you, usually between 14-16 weeks old.
You agree never to sell, lease or give this cat to anyone without my agreement first.
You agree never to sell this cat to a pet store or research facility. As such, you agree that you are not a research facility or pet store.
You will have your new kitten examined by a licensed veterinarian within 3 days of purchase. If there is any concern, you agree to promptly contact me.
You agree to continue to feed and follow THE SAME healthy balanced diet for your cat that they have been eating at their birth home. By the time they leave for their forever home, they are eating “Taste of the Wild” dry and canned.
You agree to provide a happy, healthy forever home for your kitten/cat and include them in your family life.
You agree to have a plastic secure cat carrier, that is clean functioning and safe, to transport your kitten. Or, you agree that I am bringing your new kitten to her/his new home to meet the family.
You agree to NEVER declaw this cat.
You agree to never let your Indra’s Net cat outside, except in a secure cat-run or on a leash.
You agree that, if for any reason, such as: Financial, Ill health, Mental Health, inadequate healthy environmental conditions prohibiting the cats’ continued wellbeing, you will contact me to immediately either assist you in finding a new home for your cat or surrender your cat back to me. All Indra’s Net Maine Coon Cats are microchipped, registered, and may not be surrendered to a “rescue” facility. Please make sure that extended family members are aware of this adoption policy in case of emergency.

Indra’s Net:

Agrees to provide you with a healthy, well socialized, spiritually happy Maine Coon kitten/cat to adopt into your family (whatever your definition of family).
Will do everything possible to make sure that you are including a kitten into your family whose temperament will fit with your family.
Will provide paperwork certifying that the kitten has been vaccinated for with the tri-Feline vaccination, is FeLv and FIP negative and in good health.
Will be responsible for spaying or neutering the kitten before sending it to its new home.
Agrees to replace your kitten if death should occur within one year, if it is deemed to be due to a genetic or hereditary defect.
Will provide you with CFA registration papers free of charge.
Agrees to be available for consultation, questions or concerns as you and your new family member ‘adjust’ to living together.
